Bob Mears - General Manager

I Started with Mazda in 1973 before Mom and Dad purchased the franchise from Plains Mazda. We moved the dealership into Pop’s used car lot on 43rd and Q. Man, what a start in the new car business. A re-modeled Burger chef is a little small for a new car dealer! We had 8 employees. Either way I wouldn’t take for the experience. I could sit in my chair and reach about any part in the parts room and never get up. Now we're in a state of the art, top notch dealership. 32 employees that really make this store what it is. And I think it’s one of the best Automotive dealerships in the country! Our management teams are the best in the business.

Other habits besides selling new cars is restoring old muscle cars. At one time I had about a dozen old cars that I had restored. That switched a few years back and I decided to build an airplane. So now I’m building an 80% scale WWII Spitfire. And what motor do you ask? Well the famed Mazda Wankel of course. Andy and I raced these for years and are well aware of their high output and reliability. Simple choice for me. I also fly competition model combat planes all over the globe. Dad got us started in that when we were kids and we’ve never let it go. I’ve done lots of drag racing, dirt track racing, scca racing, motorcycle racing, rc car racing. Obvious that Dad started us early in the racing world.

I’ve got three fantastic daughters and two wonderful granddaughters. They make my life complete. There’s lots of dancing, gymnastics, drama, and of course Girl Scout events keeping us busy. O, and I’ve got a cat that I don’t like much

Mark Benedict - General Sales Manager

Hi! I'm Mark Benedict. and have enjoyed working with the Mears Mazda Family as the Sales Manager for 8 years. With 15 years experience in automotive customer service and sales, I am honored to work with the Mears family and the excellent sales team. I have enjoyed my job at Mears for going on seven years. I started in Sales, then trained in Finance, and now I have moved up to become the Pre-owned Auto Manager.

Home is where my heart is and I have a wonderful wife and three awesome children. Our kids range from college age to high school to day care (he was actually planned....really!) so my wife and I are busy parents just like you.

I love spending time with my family and we try to take a nice vacation at least once a year. I also love to cook and am best outdoors on the grille. I love being with Mrs. Murphy and our very active children.

My name is Justin Kotarski; I am the Finance Director here at James Mears Mazda and Volvo. I started working at Mears back in 2003. I have been a Sales Consultant, Service Advisor, and now Finance Director. It has been very enjoyable being able to learn different aspects of this dealership. I grew up in the car business, we had a little note lot in the 70's and I started out washing and fixing the cars. At 16 I became a Master ASE certified technician and was working at an independent repair shop. In 1975 we acquired the Mazda franchise and I started working in parts until I finished my tech training. I then became Master Certified in Mazda repair. I sold cars for a few years and in 1980 I took over the Service Managers position. The love of cars has kept me in the shop for 30 years. I have also won the President's Gold Guild for Excellence and been a top 10 Service Manager since the program began. Our CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) scores are always top in the nation. It is the pride of our employees that has kept us on top for this many years.

I have raced various types of cars throughout my life, but the one that was very special was a MAZDA RX-3 that Bob and I build in 1981, it was the world's fastest rotory at that time. It was featured in several magazines and won best engineered car in NHRA and IHRA nationals. I still race on a limited schedule, running an alcohol dragster and yes, a Mazda RX-3.

I have been married to the same beautiful lady for 30 years, a son, Nick, that will graduate Texas Tech this year, a daughter, Jamie, and blessed with my first grandchild last December
